Avon Concealer in Natural December 18, 2008

I’m not a constant concealer user, I only have a need for it when I don’t get enough sleep and I get this dark shadows under my eyes that foundation can’t hide. I bought this online from a seller on ebay when I wasn’t yet a franchise dealer from Avon. I got it for like P100 which I think is a good deal. This is a cream type concealer that has a semi-matte finish after application. My method of application is I tap the concealer on the skin under my eyes, making sure that enough product will be placed then using my ring finger I will spread and blend it by tapping also. After that I will gently swipe loose powder with a brush over it to set. Keep in my mind when buying concealers for your under eyes you need to choose a shade lighter than your skin tone so when you apply it it balances out the color of your skin. Natural on me is just a perfect shade, I was already thinking of repurchasing but I’m waiting for it to go on sale at Avon.

Clean & Clear Moisturizer w/ SPF 15 and Vit. C December 18, 2008

I’m currently using this as my evening moisturizer and sometimes in the morning. I saw this @ Watson’s and was a bit curious because it had Vit. C. One of our sisses on GT wrote that she uses it and she didn’t have any adverse reaction to it,  so the next day I bought one. I’ve been using this for a couple of weeks now or so I think, so far it works nicely with my oily-acne prone skin. Every after use it seems that it brightens your skin which is nice. I would have preferred a much higher SPF but 15 is good than none. Moisturizing is fairly well but if you have dry skin I don’t think that this would be enough. I would repurchase unless I could find a better product. By the way like I said in the beginning I only use this at night because in the morning or when I’m going to use my liquid foundation I use my Myra-E vitawhite moisturizer, I mix it with liquid foundie.

Oumeidie Quad Eyeshadow December 16, 2008

I bought this quad eyeshadow at the Hortaleza Vaciador store near where I live. They a have few nice items but I opted for this one because of the olive green eyeshadow. The texture of the eyeshadows is a bit powdery but not really chalky. The color pay off is mediocre I think you’ll need a good base for this to last long. I always pair this with my Baxi eyeshadow to get that nice antique green color effect that I like. The other blue colors are nice as well but I can’t wear them much but I love the grayish white in the quad to use as highlighter especially paired with my blue shadows. I won’t be repurchasing these, I hope that I might find a single shadow version of the green though.

These toner is the yellow variant which is I think is recommended for those with oily skin. I bought this at Healthy Options, this is the smallest bottle for P60. Good thing I got this in the small bottle or I would have been really disappointed if I bought myself the big one. I didn’t like this toner because it didn’t do much for my skin. It didn’t really help with my oiliness or my time to time acne problems. One of the reasons I use toners is that it helps to take off any excess dirt that might not have come off when I wash with my cleanser. This doesn’t help with that because I use a cotton ball to apply this and always the cotton would only have a minimal trace of dirt even if I wore makeup same small amount of residue. I didn’t finish the bottle because it felt like the black heads are starting to build up on my face and I happen to have large pores. I switched to a local brand of toner and I had to say it was way more better than this one for only a fraction of the price. There are some people who still uses this because it seems to work for them but I personally would not recommend this because I didn’t see any difference or help at all.

Biolink VCO anti-frizz Shampoo December 13, 2008

I’ve been a constant user of this shampoo because it’s the only one that helps to make my frizzy and dry hair more softer and manageable even without conditioner sometimes. Usually I only shampoo my roots but with this one I can wash my whole hair without  the feel of dry ends. The only thing that I’m not happy about this one is you need to use a very generous amount to  build up a good lather. So you use a lot of the product and you’ll finish the whole bottle in less than a month, at least in my case ’cause my hair is quite long. Whenever I finish a bottle I use a different brand of shampoo then I go back to this one. I highly recommend this especially if you have dry frizzy hair but if your scalp is oily you might want to look for another alternative.

Coty Airspun face powder in Translucent December 11, 2008

There were a lot of raves about this loose powder in makeupalley so I went ahead and bought one for myself. It was priced @ P330 at Somera in Glorietta. I think it’s an okay price since the net weight is 65 grams which is a lot. First, I have to say I like the packaging it has that vintage vibe going on and I think this product has been around since our grandmas were young because the scent reminded me of one of my grandmothers. I shared this with my mom since I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to finish this on my own. I placed 1 tbsp. on a sifter jar so I can have easy access because getting the powder from it’s original packaging is quite messy. The texture of the powder is finely milled, I like to use it as a finishing powder after I’ve put on the rest of my make up. I tried to use this alone it didn’t help much with the oiliness of my face but I wasn’t really expecting it to. I didn’t break out from this so that alone is good enough for me. Translucent shade is a bit light for me but since I’m acidic it darkens a bit in a few minutes also I can’t use this on the summer when my skin gets a bit darker especially after going to the beach. I won’t be repurchasing any time soon or never or maybe if I might see a shade that fits my skin tone.

Celeteque Oil Control Toner December 11, 2008

The only thing that made me want to try this was the witch hazel in the list of ingredients. Was it effective as an oil control toner? To me, NO. It didn’t help at all to control my oiliness and I didn’t notice anything remarkable to make me feel it did anything actually good for my skin. My skin type is acne-prone and oily, so I was really hoping that this would help somehow. This cost me like P100+ which is a lot more expensive than most toners I have tried. Obviously I never repurchased but I had a good use for the plastic bottle which now contains my home made brush cleanser.(^_^)

Rimmel Blush in Apricot December 10, 2008

This is the most recent blush I’ve bought and the only reason I purchased it was because it was cheap. I’ve read about reviews about this particular blush in makeupalley and some have compared it Nars Orgasm. I’ve never used or tried N.O. nor I was planning to because I knew with my skintone it wouldn’t really show. So w.t.h. I went and bought this one anyway. My first initial reaction when I got this was ‘…okay this is too light.’ The next day I went out and tried it with my Blusche blush brush. I was correct it barely showed up on me, but when I smiled there very nice shimmers and it naturally enhanced my cheek bones and I did a 180 turn and decided that this is a cool blush. I’m not into the ‘au naturelle’ makeup look so I combine this with my Jordana Sienna blush which is a matte tan shade, with this two mixed it gives a nice light bronzy glow which I can’t seem to imitate with my other bronzers.

Packaging is not so nice. The lid is flimsy and if you try to bring this blush out with you and place it in your makeup pouch there’s a huge possibility that it’s gonna come off and  when that happens, say hello to ‘mess’. I might not repurchase even if it comes available again to me, I do prefer peachy reds/pinks/browns as blush color.

NYC double ended eyeliner in Islands in the Stream December 9, 2008

This was bought for me by my sister when she went to the US, I actually asked her to get me a Wet n’ Wild Turquoise eyeliner but it wasn’t available where she was at the time so she opted for this one. This eyeliner has 2 colors a plain matte black one and a shimmery blue green, which is more closer to blue than green. I like the texture because it’s soft enough and doesn’t tug on my lids. I love using the blue-green shade on my lower lashes. I don’t know if it smudges because I do smudge it a bit when I apply this. I’ve never really used the black color because I have other liners that I prefer.

Hhhmmm…the fact that this is not locally available means I will not be able to repurchase it, so I won’t. I am happy to have this in my collection.

Cover Girl Single Eye Enhancers December 8, 2008

I’m not very fond of this eyeshadows because they really do not deliver much in terms of pigment and lasting power. If used with a good base or other eye colors well that’s another story. I usually use this on top of my cream based eyeshadows and the colors would just pop. I love the shimmers that these eyeshadows have and with a good base it lasts a long time. I love both this shades because it looks good with my skin tone. I probably won’t be repurchasing though because there’s already a lot on the pan that will last me a long time and I might be looking for better alternatives as well. About the applicators, well I think they’re okay but I prefer my brushes when applying eye colors so I cannot comment on them.

I got Emerald Girl on ebay.ph while Aqua Paradise was bought for me by my sister. After this will I be buying anymore CG eyeshadows? The answer is yes! I want to try their quads actually but I can’t seem to find shades that I would like that are locally available here.
