ELF Bronzer/hi-lighter in Luminance January 30, 2009

ELF has categorized this as a bronzer I don’t why though because for me it’s more of a luminizer than a bronzer. This is my favorite hi-lighter since this is the only one I have but FYI it’s not the only I’ve tried. Most luminizers that are locally available are cream based and too shimmery for me so this being powder based is just perfect for my skin type. The texture of the product is a bit powdery so you’ll need a light hand if your using a blush brush or a fan brush so you won’t over apply. Since my skin is quite oily I only apply this on the upper part of my cheek bones to give me that nice ‘angelic’ glow, also sometimes (rarely) I apply a small amount on the bow of my lips to make my upper lips a bit pouty. This powder has small tiny gold fleck shimmers that’s quite subtle depending on the application. Staying power is mediocre so a base is very much needed. I don’t break out when I use this so I will repurchase when I ran out or when the one I have goes bad.

Ever Bilena Advance Blush On Duo January 29, 2009

I was looking for a warm toned peach blush that doesn’t have shimmers, since this was quite affordable I bought one to try it out. This has 2 shades a slightly orange tinged and a warm brown. You can use each color alone or together. The lighter shade can be used by day for a nice peachy flush, the darker can be used for contour in the evening. Usually I use this blush together, what I do is I swipe my blush brush 2 times alternating on both colors then apply on my cheeks. Since I have a morena skin tone this is the best way for me make the color show on my cheeks.

This blush is not powdery so it will last quite a long time. Staying power is okay depending on your base make up or primer, without a base/primer this might not last long, well for me that is because I have really oily skin. I didn’t get any break outs when I was using this. I might repurchase but I have other blushes that i’m more into now. By the way the brush in the compact is useless.

Ever Bilena Clear Mascara January 27, 2009

I used this to tame my eye brows and make them look polished. At first it was a fairly good product but the more I used it I noticed that it would sort of harden and become flaky and it would look like I have dandruff on my eye brows which was a very weird sight. I never finished the whole tube because the colorless gel like product became murky. I think it must be because I would use this after using my eye brow liner. Well it looked icky so to the trash it went. If you want an affordable clear mascara you can try this but try not to touch your eye brows or eye lashes because it can become flaky.

Cyleina Rice Bran Soap January 20, 2009

Filed under: Skin Care, Soap — mygaia13 @ 11:46 am

I read that this soap is good for drying up pimples and for preventing them as well. I bought one at a Hortaleza store in Bicutan, it’s the closest branch to where I live that sells this soap. The scent of the soap is quite yummy well at least for me. The soap is a bit soft so it was easy to cut into cubes, I cut this into 6 pieces because it tends to melt or dillute fast when it gets contact with water. These helped me with my acne-problem, it seemed to have lessen it but it also dried up my skin. I think I finished 4 bars of this soap before I decided to switch to a non-drying facial wash. This soap would have been great if it did not dry my skin so bad. I found out that the drier my skin the more it becomes oily, I hope that made sense. So yes this works, if you don’t mind the dry skin I say try it out.

Cyleina Black Pearl Soap January 18, 2009

I bought this because I read a lot of raves about this soap for skin lightening. I had some discoloration before, my forehead was just slightly darker than the rest of my face and also where the temples meet my cheek bones.

My first impression of the soap is it’s quite soft like the Rice Bran variant. No strong smell which is good. I cut this in 4 triangular pieces and was planning to use it one at a time. First time I used this it was okay, my skin felt soft and it didn’t dry my skin. After a couple of more uses I got this very small cyst like acne on my forehead and some on my chin. I was thinking maybe my skin was just adjusting to the soap, so I used it some more. After a few more days well it doesn’t seem to help at all and small cystic acne kept coming so I had to stop using it. I might have been allergic to it because when I was using the Rice Bran I did not have that kind of reaction. So I just used it as a hand soap. By the way my mom also tried this and she had the same rection to it and she’s already over 60 and she hasn’t had acne for years till she used this.

A lot of user’s of this soap swears by it, so maybe I’m just one of the few unlucky people that can’t seem to get along with this soap too bad for me.

Clean & Clear Pimple Gel January 12, 2009

I bought and used this months and months ago when I was having a hard time with breakouts. Wanting a quick fix on drying up pimples I decided to give this a try. This is a gel based formula that has a bit of scent to it. First time I used this it was okay, no stingy feeling unlike that Eskinol pimple gel I also tried and threw which felt like it was going to burn a hole in my skin. Effectiveness was not so good it would take 3-4 days to see any good change. I did not use the whole of it because I tried soaking my pimple with the toner I’m using and it is much more effective and cheaper than this product. I won’t be repurchasing ever.

Body Recipe Skin Whitening Calamansi Soap January 9, 2009

I bought this soap when I wanted to even out the color of my skin especially in my arms. The deciding factor that made me want to try this is the scent, it’s a nice fresh citrus smell that I like. Okay, I think I used this soap for more than 3 weeks straight. I didn’t see any effect that it did work to lighten my skin but I like the smell that I didn’t mind at all. I bought another bar after I finished one but since there’s still no effect I decided to try a different brand. This can be a bit drying (like most whitening/lightening soaps) so moisturizing after bathing is a must. I might repurchase maybe in the summer just because of the scent.

Blistex Lip Tone January 6, 2009

Blistex lip balm in Lip Tone…. not the best balm that there is but useable. I don’t use this much because it doesn’t moisturize my lips well enough. If you want a bit of color I mean a really bit of color on your lips this would do nicely. It also has a sort of sweet taste to it so there is a tendency that you would lick this off of your lips. I won’t be repurchasing I prefer my lip balms to be moisturising. I think this cost me P70, cheap but there are better balms out there.
