Review: Jane Eye Brightener in 02 Nude

Okay, first I want to say that I’ve never had or used any eye primer before. I’ve only used eyeshadow bases, like cream pencils/liners and cream eyeshadows. The thing that attracted me most of this product are the words ‘Eye Brightener’, meaning it would brighten ones eye area making you look fresh and awake. On the packaging it says ‘Reduces circles and smooths skin. Sheer shades create a bright eyed look & helps prevent creasing and fading.’ To me it does reduce a bit of under eye lines or at least it camouflages it, but if you really have dark under eyes you would still need to use a concealer (which I sometimes do). Smooths skin… maybe just a bit. Helps prevent creasing & fading… I really have oily lids so it doesn’t prevent creasing that much but it’s much worse when I don’t have this on. With fading, I find that my eyeshadows stay a lot longer.

This is not a primer, from what I know primers prevent creasing and makes your eyeshadows pop and look brighter. This won’t do that, you would still need a base for that. If you have pigmented eyeshadows and you just want them to last long, this would be enough I would assume.

I always use this after I’ve applied my foundation, I use a concealer brush that’s half an inch wide to apply this on my whole lid up to my brow bone then under my eyes. Then I use my ring finger to even it up to make sure there are no streaks. You can not apply or blend a second coat or layer because the product has a powder finish, it will become cakey.

Would I repurchase? Definitely! Actually I already have two extras on my stash as this product is not locally available and I believe the seller on Ebay wouldn’t have unlimited stocks of this. I may just get another extra, but we’ll see. I think 5 grams would go a long way, since I only apply a thin layer evey time I use this.

By the way the color of the product when applied on the skin is a very light beige, that shouldn’t be a problem though you can just even it out.
