Sheene blush March 11, 2009

I like this blush, it has 3 shades which you can use together or each one by itself. I prefer mixing them all together because I get this nice reddish apricot shade that makes you look really healthy but if applied too much it can look clownish so apply with a light hand. Also I like that it has no shimmers or glitters, that’s why it can look natural. Staying power is medium, depending on your skin type since I’m oily probably it stays on 4 hours tops. By the way the brush included is useless, it’s too soft for application and it can make your blush look streaky. This brand is not widely available here anymore so I don’t know where else to get this, that’s okay since I’m not planning to buy this again.

Ever Bilena Advance Blush On Duo January 29, 2009

I was looking for a warm toned peach blush that doesn’t have shimmers, since this was quite affordable I bought one to try it out. This has 2 shades a slightly orange tinged and a warm brown. You can use each color alone or together. The lighter shade can be used by day for a nice peachy flush, the darker can be used for contour in the evening. Usually I use this blush together, what I do is I swipe my blush brush 2 times alternating on both colors then apply on my cheeks. Since I have a morena skin tone this is the best way for me make the color show on my cheeks.

This blush is not powdery so it will last quite a long time. Staying power is okay depending on your base make up or primer, without a base/primer this might not last long, well for me that is because I have really oily skin. I didn’t get any break outs when I was using this. I might repurchase but I have other blushes that i’m more into now. By the way the brush in the compact is useless.

Rimmel Blush in Apricot December 10, 2008

This is the most recent blush I’ve bought and the only reason I purchased it was because it was cheap. I’ve read about reviews about this particular blush in makeupalley and some have compared it Nars Orgasm. I’ve never used or tried N.O. nor I was planning to because I knew with my skintone it wouldn’t really show. So w.t.h. I went and bought this one anyway. My first initial reaction when I got this was ‘…okay this is too light.’ The next day I went out and tried it with my Blusche blush brush. I was correct it barely showed up on me, but when I smiled there very nice shimmers and it naturally enhanced my cheek bones and I did a 180 turn and decided that this is a cool blush. I’m not into the ‘au naturelle’ makeup look so I combine this with my Jordana Sienna blush which is a matte tan shade, with this two mixed it gives a nice light bronzy glow which I can’t seem to imitate with my other bronzers.

Packaging is not so nice. The lid is flimsy and if you try to bring this blush out with you and place it in your makeup pouch there’s a huge possibility that it’s gonna come off and  when that happens, say hello to ‘mess’. I might not repurchase even if it comes available again to me, I do prefer peachy reds/pinks/browns as blush color.
