I didn’t like this brush for its intended purpose but as a concealer brush this works fine. Why don’t I like it as a foundation brush? First the hair is too soft for foundie application, I’ve tried it with liquid and mousse types and blending was a pain. I find the shape of the brush too narrow and the brush is not dense enough. The only good thing about it is the type of hair they used which is synthetic. If you’re in need of concealing large areas this would be a good brush, because as I said it’s really soft and you don’t need to worry about over applying. I tried this to apply my cream blushes it’s no good for that too. This brush is already in the hands of my mom, she uses it for concealing lines.

Elianto Nose Shaper Brush (used as a crease brush) November 17, 2008

I found out about this brush when sis Aika featured it in her blog. Like her the reason I bought this brush was not because of its purpose as a nose contour brush but as a crease brush. I must say that is the perfect crease brush for me because it fits perfectly well in my crease when I’m using for contour. The brush itself is quite soft but not too soft and it’s not scratchy at all. It’s more expensive than my other eye brushes and I find that the handle is a tad too long for my liking but I find the color of the handle to be a classy shade of dark maroon which I find pretty.

I bought this for P169 @ the Elianto counter in Robinson’s Place Manila
I am loving this brush and I might get an extra for just having an extra one LOL!

Ever Bilena Duo Sharpener November 9, 2008

I wanted a cosmetic sharpener that I can use with my liners and jumbo pencils as well. This one does the job and I couldn’t ask for anything more. It is very durable and it sharpens well. I do have other sharpeners but this one I reach out for all the time. I like the small stick included, it helps me to pick on the product that might get stuck after sharpening. I will buy again if this one breaks which I doubt because I’ve had this for 2 years now I think and works great like the first time I used it. I already forgot how much this cost me but it’s available at Ever Bilena counters in malls.

How to fix your brush when it breaks off November 8, 2008

I have a couple of face brushes that the ferrule head broke off from the handle and I just hate it when it happened to me. One was a Sivanna synthetic foundation brush and the other a mini synthetic powder brush that’s not branded. I am very careful when cleaning my brushes, I always make sure that the ferrule doesn’t get wet or the inner side of the brush head. So one day while I was doing my usual foundie routine the ferrule head suddenly broke off and I was in the middle of applying my foundation. It was a bit frustrating but I wasn’t really put out because I have an extra foundation brush. So now what to do with a couple of broken brushes? Knowing that I can still use ‘em because the brush hairs are fine I went out and bought a super glue, Mighty Bond to be exact. These kind of glue is very tricky to use, never touch it with your fingers or let it touch any part of you because you’ll have one hell of a time removing it and when it sticks to anything it really gets stuck. This is the pic tutorial I made:

Apply enough amount of the glue inside the ferrule spread it as evenly as you can

Added note: after applying the glue inside the ferrule stick the handle inside as soon as you can because you don’t want the glue drying out and be sure that you stick it in properly with the brush logo facing the right way. I made that mistake with this brush.

Blusche face brushes November 7, 2008

I bought 2 pre-buy brushes from blusche.com specifically the Flat Top face brush and the Angle blush brush. I’ve been wanting to buy myself a flat top brush for over 3 months now, since a lot of gals said that this a great brush for buffing and stippling on foundation powder or liquid. So when Blusche offered a pre-buy brush discount for P276.50 from the usual P500 I went ahead and ordered myself one. After a few days I thought that I have never used an angled blush brush before so I ordered again and asked Monica if she can combine it with my FT order, she obliged me and for that I think they have great customer service. By the way the angled blush brush was priced at P245 from P400.

So after a month I think of waiting I got an email from Monica that said that the brushes were already sent out. The next day the brushes came and I was soooo impressed with this brushes. They are really velvety soft and sooo cute as well. I love the short handle because they fit so well in my small hands. The feel of the synthetic brush feels so wonderful you wouldn’t want to stop brushing it on your face, it’s crazy. I’ve heard and read a lot of those who have the Blushce FT and the EDM FT and how both brushes are so comparable that if you can’t see the the EDM logo on their FT you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the 2 brushes. So I say I got a great deal with this brush because it was cheaper.

So do I have any gripes with this brushes? With the FT none whatsoever, it works really quite well because as of the moment I only use this to set my foundation. The angled blush brush was also great but I find it a bit too big for contouring but for applying blush on the apple of your cheeks it was great, better than my usual tapered blush brush.

On an extra note they were also giving out freebies with the pre-buy brushes, I got a couple of sample lotions from their Skin and Body line Naturally by Upper Canada. I got Wild Mint Lime and Red Tea Grape.
